Education Committee

Tasks related to providing leadership in acoustics education across levels of training and expertise are the focus of the CARE Education Committee. Areas of concentration include the planning, organization, and evaluation of educational programming events from short-term outreach activities to formal educational certificates and micro-credentials. 

CARE Education Committee Goals : 

  • Foster interdisciplinary professional development in acoustics via a monthly online seminar series 
  • Advise faculty on best practices for integrating acoustics principles into undergraduate and graduate courses 
  • Promote awareness of acoustics while also increasing the diversity and inclusive nature of acoustics sciences 
  • Identify opportunities to advance training in acoustics through innovative pedagogies and novel educational delivery platforms 
  • Host hands-on acoustics demonstration sessions for middle and high school students along with technical training for K-12 teachers in New England 
  • Provide networking opportunities for students via affiliation with the Acoustical Society of America 

Meeting Schedule: 

The CARE Education Committee meets monthly during the academic year, with taskforces/sub-committee meetings planned as necessary.
