Melissa is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa working on a high-frequency autonomous dual sensor to measure seawater total alkalinity and pH to evaluate metabolic processes in Hawaiian coral reef areas from in situ time series and process study data.

Thom is currently a project scientist emeritus at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and is doing some consulting and writing on space plasmas and magnetism from his home in Annapolis. His consulting is done as the sole proprietor of 3rd Rock Research.

John got his MS from UNH and is currently a Marine Ecotoxicology PhD student at the department of ecology, environment and plant sciences at Stockholm University. His research is on how cyanobacteria blooms in the Baltic Sea affect the growth of fish and their accumulation of toxins and pollutants.

Julia currently works as a Senior Research Staff Member at the Sandia National Lab in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She works in the high voltage lab observing the effects of lightning’s electrical current on different materials, and on wind turbine projects to make them less vulnerable to lightning.

Claire is currently a Research Group Leader in the Permafrost Research Section at Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research in Potsdam, Germany investigating greenhouse gas emissions from northern ecosystems, including tundra, wetlands, and permafrost ecosystems.

Aditi is an Acoustic Engineer at Tetra Tech in Boston and part of the Noise Team specializing in underwater and in-air acoustics. She primarily performs acoustic modeling to estimate distances to thresholds of injury and behavioral disruption in marine mammals due to offshore construction.
