Shannon is a 2012 graduate of the College of Charleston where she obtained a B.S. in Marine Biology. As an undergraduate she learned aspects of seafloor mapping through the College of Charleston’s ‘BEAMS’ program as well as participating with multiple deep-sea research expeditions. Since graduation she has worked with multiple institutions including Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the U.S. Geological Survey and the University of Bristol. She is excited to fuse her diverse background of marine biology, geology, and seafloor mapping into pursuing research in the field of habitat mapping.
