Erin Nagel
Erin Nagel is a Scientific Programmer supporting NOAA/NOS/OCS/CSDL in developing software that gathers real-time OFS NetCDF and converts files to HDF5 according to the S-100/S-111 standards, delivering modeled surface current forecasts for use in electronic navigation systems. Previously she supported NOAA/NOS nowCOAST, a GIS-based web mapping portal for real-time operational meteorological, oceanographic, and hydrologic spatial data sets, displaying coastal observations, warnings, and forecasts. JHC/CCOM as a Scientific Data Analyst, assisting in data processing, web-based mapping tools, and data management for the center. Prior to joining the center in 2014, Erin worked as a Physical Scientist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and with NOAA’s Office of Coast Survey Hydrographic Survey Division as a hydrographer. Erin earned bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Geography with a Minor in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences and a Graduate Geospatial Science Certificate from the University of New Hampshire.
