Communications

The COM subsystem includes UHF radio (EnduroSat, UHF Transceiver Type II) and UHF Antenna Type III antennas.  Ground stations are located at University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH and  Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA. In conformance with § 5.107 Transmitter control requirements, all transmission from the satellite can be terminated by sending an uplink to command the satellite to disable the transmitter.

The communication system operates in the amateur UHF band (435-438 MHz) with 2GFSK modulation and 14.4 kHz bandwidth, resulting in a 9.6 kbps data rate. Two ground stations — at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA, and at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH — are being built to communicate with the spacecraft.
